LAWRENCE CONYERS

Lawrence Conyers, better known as "Anson Photography" is based near Darlington and provides wedding, portrait and corporate photographic services throughout the region, but also specialises in this unusual pseudo-gothic style of imagery.

"I like to blur the distinction between art and photography. It's sometimes hard to tell when a one of my pictures is an oil painting, a watercolour, a sketch, a photograph or a mix of all of those."

Lawrence is increasingly known for his HDR work (Terris Novalis is a good example), recently used extensively in the book "Tapestry Of Time, The Sockburn Hall Project". "The Lady Of The Lake (woodland scene) features international model Amie Dodgeson who I was incredibly lucky to shoot with last year. That kind of opportunity doesn't come around very often" The Dragon Lady trio of pictures, "Dragon Lady Mask", "Dragon Lady Faded Glory" and "Dragon Lady Lost Love" are so called because they originated as HDR photography shot at a special (and secret) location near Darlington - the origin of a number of dragon stories, including the Lambton Worm and George & The Dragon legends.

The exhibition will run from 5th August - 30th September 2010
